2020 is set to start off well for the Canary Islands. More positive news keeps coming with regards to the tourism industry here. Tourism is main oil that keeps the economic machine working in Tenerife so all news to do with it impacts everyone.
Apart from the obvious impact on hotels, entertainment and restaurants, the levels of tourism also affect employment numbers, which directly affects household budgets so even things like family outings or the decision to have a beer, or a spliff, after work can be affected by the changes. Tourism is also a hugely important element for Tenerife and the Canaries as it helps with maintaining connectivity to Mainland Spain, Europe and the rest of the world.
After reports of increasing cruise holidays to the Canaries and Jet2 setting up base in South Tenerife, the upward trend continues. The most recent good news comes from Vueling who have announced that they base a third aeroplae in Tenerife North, showing faith in the Canary Islands route. Vueling began operations on Tenerife in 2008 with the inauguration of the route that connected the island with Seville. Eight years later, the company based its first aircraft at the Tenerife North Airport and already in the past year, reinforced its operation with a second aircraft. The third will be permanently based in Tenerife north from June 2020

Ocho años después, la compañía basó su primer avión en el aeropuerto de Tenerife Norte y, ya en el último año, reforzó su operación con un segundo avión.
