Tenerife Cabildo has committed to expanding the Hospital del Sur at El Mojón to make it “a real hospital” after a 20 year wait.
Reports state that the commitment detailed by the Regional Minister of Health will result in an increase in the number of available beds from the current 100 to 400, and the hospital will be completed with 18 operating rooms and an emergency area on the ground floor.
The Ministry of Health has guaranteed 250 residential places for vulnerable and dependant people. . The hospital will also have consultations in Cardiology, Dermatology, and a Mental Health Unit for children and adults - to name a few.
