There is an internationally known coffee chain that also has a few locations in the Canary Islands that is known to ask for your name as part of their policy to “connect with customers”. Recently, at the Feltham, West London branch, a customer ordered a cookies-and-cream frappuccino from the Feltham and was asked – as is standard practice in outlets of the coffee chain – to give her name for the order. Though her name is ‘Nadia’, when her drink was brought to her it had “Hippo” scrawled in permanent marker across the side.
The report from The Guardian sympathises with Nadia because, though not having suffered this level of malice, the writer has an unusual name so their name is usually wrong. As someone with a name that is not english, I can totally relate to that.

Recientemente, en la sucursal de Feltham, West London, un cliente ordenó un frappuccino de galletas y crema de Feltham y se le pidió, como es práctica habitual en los puntos de venta de la cadena de café, que diga su nombre para el pedido. Aunque su nombre es "Nadia", cuando le trajeron su bebida tenía "Hippo" garabateado en un marcador permanente en el costado.
El informe de The Guardian simpatiza con Nadia porque, aunque no ha sufrido este nivel de malicia, el escritor tiene un nombre inusual, por lo que su nombre generalmente es incorrecto. Como alguien con un nombre que no es inglés, puedo relacionarme totalmente con eso.
